SCHEDULE OF PRESENTATIONS
9:00am – 9:30am - Dreams 101 - Jacquie Lewis, Ph.D.
Slide presentation with overview of the types of dreams people experience.
9:30am –11:30pm - Appreciating Dreams: The Montague Ullman Group Approach - Wendy Pannier
This experiential workshop demonstrates Dr. Montague Ullman’s dynamic four-step group process that he developed. The group will work on a participant’s dream using the Ullman method. This approach helps people tap the potential of their dreams – and also shows how dreams connect us, one to another. Safety of the dreamer is a primary tenet of this process, and the dreamer remains in control at all times.
11:30pm – 12:30pm - Lucid Dreaming As a Gateway to Inner Awareness - Robert Waggoner
Lucid dreaming, or the ability to become consciously aware in the dream state, has been scientifically proven since the late 197 0's. Since that time, many have learned to experience this unique state of conscious awareness. Conscious dreaming provides an incredible opportunity to explore the nature of the subconscious. Aware in the dream, the dreamer can converse with dream figures, receive information about dream symbols, learn the principles of the dream environment, and even seek out conceptual information. & nbsp;Participants will learn how to address questions to their inner awareness and receive information and experiences beyond the waking ego's ability while in the lucid dream state. This presentation will examine the various responses and rebuttals about making inner awareness accessible while conscious in the dream state.
12:30pm – 2:00pm - Lunch
2:00pm – 3:00pm - Image Activation Dreamwork - Bob Hoss, M.S.
Dreams picture our feelings. While some dreams contain archetypal imagery, personal dream imagery contains powerful associations with feelings and situations that the dreamer faces in waking life. These feelings and associations are unique to the individual dreamer. To understand them requires an approach that elicits meaning from within. By simply “letting the dream imagery speak” the dream itself quickly reveals the feelings and associations that created the imagery. Participants will learn a Gestalt based technique called the “6 magic questions.” This method of dreamwork is designed to reveal emotional perceptions, conflicts and motivations behind the waking life issue the dream is presenting. Attendees will also learn how color paints dreams with emotion, and how to work with color in dreams. This workshop will also present a closure technique which uses the dream to help define next steps toward progressing in life.
3:00pm – 5:30pm - Healing Collage – A Visual Approach to Dreamwork - Sheila McNellis Asato, M.A.
Participants must bring old magazines to create collages. Explore the visual and spatial genius of the dream as it reveals itself through the practice of Healing Collage. As we allow images to move freely about the paper, we will see how the dream artist in each of us works through our hands to create its own unique compositions. Finally, we will see how particular images and themes tend to cluster in specific areas of the collage, revealing an underlying visual structure20not readily apparent in other forms of dreamwork.
