Getting to Asheville and the Crowne Plaza

The Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) is 15 miles south of the resort. Direct flights are available from Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Houston, Minneapolis, Newark, and Orlando. In addition, there are a large number of direct flights from the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (GSP), only a little more than an hour away in South Carolina, with direct flights to several major American cities including Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

The closest international airports are the following, both of which have direct flights to Asheville:
Charlotte International Airport (CLT) - about a two-hour drive to Asheville
Atlanta: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) - about a four-hour drive to Asheville

Shuttle service
When you arrive, call the Crowne Plaza (828-254-3211 or toll free at 800-733-3211) for shuttle service ($30 USD one way). The shuttle fee can be added to your hotel bill. Taxi service is approximately $40 one way.

Note: The street name for the Crowne Plaza has recently changed from Holiday Inn Drive to Resort Drive. They have submitted this change to the online map companies and the GPS software providers. Until they update their records, you will need to use One Holiday Inn Drive to locate the resort.

From South
(Asheville Regional Airport; Greenville/Spartanburg, SC; Columbia, SC):
• Travel West on I-26
• Follow signs for I-240 East to Asheville (right exit)
• Merge into the left lane and take exit 3A
• This will merge you onto Patton Ave.
• At the 2nd light make a right onto Regent Park Blvd (between Denny's and Pizza Hut)
• The road will bear right and the entrance will be immediately on the left (before entering Sam's Club parking lot)
• Follow the road up the hill and past the Exposition Center to the main entrance

From West (Knoxville, TN):
• Travel East on I-40
• Follow signs for I-240 East to Asheville (left exit)
• Merge into the left lane and take exit 3A
• This will merge you onto Patton Ave.
• At the 2nd light make a right onto Regent Park Blvd (between Denny's and Pizza Hut)
• The road will bear right and the entrance will be immediately on the left (before entering Sam's Club parking lot)
• Follow the road up the hill and past the Exposition Center to the main entrance

From East (Hickory, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Raleigh, NC):
• Travel West on I-40
• Take exit 53-B onto I-240 West which takes you through downtown Asheville
• As you cross the French Broad River Bridge merge into the far right lane, marked as an Exit Only for Exit 3-B (labeled Westgate and Resort Drive)
• Merge into the right lane as you pass the Westgate Shopping Center
• Slow down as you pass Auto Connection and Mr. Transmission on your right
• The entrance driveway is IMMEDIATELY as you round the curve to your right (just before Jackson's Western Store)

From North (Johnson City, TN):
• Travel South on Hwy 19/23 (also known as I-26 East)
• Merge onto I-240 West
• Stay in the right lane as you merge, marked as an Exit Only for Exit 3-B (labeled Westgate and Resort Dr)
• Merge into the right lane as you pass the Westgate Shopping Center
• Slow down as you pass Auto Connection and Mr. Transmission on your right
• The entrance driveway is IMMEDIATELY as you round the curve to your right (just before Jackson's Western Store)

The hotel provides shuttle service to the Asheville airport, as well into Downtown Asheville for a small fee, and offers free parking to attendees.
